OPERATIONS
1. Zero setting (picture 1a & 1b)
Calibrate and adjust the micrometer before use for the first time. Turn the spindle to
end position or against a control gauge. Adjust the sleeve with a spanner to exact 0-
position.
Calibrate the micrometer regularly depends on the frequency of the use and ambient
environment.
2. Measure (picture 2a)
2.1 Place the wire that needs to be measured between the anvil and the spindle.
2.2 Turn the ratchet stop clockwise until it starts clicking, read the value.
3. Maintenance
3.1 Clean the measuring surface with a dry rag or a sheet of paper, avoid scratching
the measuring surface.
3.2 Shocks, impacts, drops etc can damage the micrometer. Lubricate all metallic
parts with fine oil to guaranty a good mechanical function and avoid rust.
