Lifecycle 3500, 4500, 5500 Series Exercise Bikes
How To...REMOVE AND REPLACE THE HOUSING
Tools Required: 5/8" Open end wrench, Phillips screwdriver, plastic tube
Step 1
Raise the COLLAR from the HOUSING and tape it to the HANDLEBAR POST.
Step 2
If you intend to remove only one side of the HOUSING, begin by removing the right PEDAL (sprocket side). Place a
5/8” open end WRENCH on the PEDAL BOLT and turn
counter-clockwise . If you intend to remove both sides of
the HOUSING, also remove the left PEDAL by placing the wrench on the left PEDAL BOLT and turning clockwise .
Step 3
From the right (sprocket) side of the HOUSING, remove the seven Phillips SCREWS ( A ). From the left side of the
HOUSING, remove the single Phillips SCREW ( B ) located at the HANDLEBAR ASSEMBLY.
Step 4
Swing the CRANK ARM to a two o’clock position and slip a PLASTIC TUBE over it to protect the finish of the
HOUSING from any possible scuffs or scratches. Guide the right side HOUSING up and over the CRANK ARM to
remove it from the unit.
Step 5 ( Follow the instructions in this Step only if you wish to remove the left side of the HOUSING. )
Locate and remove the three INNER HOUSING SCREWS ( C ) and the single Phillips SCREW ( B ) located at the
HANDLEBAR ASSEMBLY. Repeat Step 4 to remove the left side of the HOUSING.
Step 7
Reverse Steps 1 through 5 to return all parts to their proper positions.
Tighten parts to the following specifications:
Phillips Screws (A & B) 6-10 in. lbs.
