• Excessive soil.
- Press the CLEAR OFF pad. Open the windows to rid the room of smoke. Wait
until the self clean mode is cancelled. Wipe up the excess soil and reset the
clean.
• Oven is too hot.
- Allow the oven to cool below locking temperature.
• Oven controls not properly set.
- See the Self Clean section, page 41-43.
• Oven was heavily soiled.
- Clean up heavy spillovers before starting the clean cycle. Heavily soiled ovens
may need to self clean again or for a longer period of time.
• The self clean cycle has been selected but the door is not closed.
- Close the oven door.
• The oven door is locked because the temperature inside the oven has not dropped
below the locking temperature.
- Press the CLEAR OFF pad. Allow the oven to cool.
• This is normal in a new oven and will disappear in time.
- To speed the process, set a self clean cycle for a minimum of 3 hours.

• The shiny, silver-colored racks were cleaned in a self clean cycle.
- Apply a small amount of vegetable oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the
oven racks with the paper towel.
• Oven interior is still hot. Allow about one hour for the oven to cool after the
completion of a self clean cycle. The door can be opened when the LOCK indicator
word is not displayed.
• The control and door may be locked. See pages 40 to unlock.
• This is normal when cooking foods high in moisture.
• Excessive moisture was used when cleaning the window.
