Basic Components
A description of the principal components follows:
• The
Top Cam
guides the punches’ movement.
• The
Hopper
holds the dry materials that will be compressed.
• The
Boot
moves the materials from the Hopper to the Tooling and ejects the tablets.
• The
Die
defines or molds the size and shape of the powder.
• The
Upper Punch
and
Lower Punch
compress the materials within the Die.
