Scanner calibration reset
This is test is run to reset the scanner calibration. This test should only be run after a flatbed or ADF unit has
been replaced.
To perform this operation, do the following:

Select
Scanner Calibration Reset
.
This procedure should only be run after the scanner
or ADF has been replaced
displays.

Ensure that the scanner glass and white flatbed cushion on the ADF are clean.

Select
Continue
. If the test is successful, then
Operation completed successfully
displays for three
seconds, and then returns to the main Scanner Calibration Reset menu. If an error occurs during the test,
then
Test Failed, Please Retry
displays, and a Continue button appears that takes you back to the
main Scanner Calibration Rest Menu screen.

Select
Exit
to leave the test.
After successfully executing this test, verify the results.

Load the ADF with a document containing both light and dark content.

Perform a duplex copy. If the back side of the resulting copy contains vertical streaks, then the SE should
clean the scanner glass and backing sheet, execute the back side scan uniformity procedure, and then
perform another copy. If streaks still appear on the resulting copy, then the SE can repeat the cleaning and
verification procedure a second time or can replace the ADF entirely.
ADF magnification
This test allows the service technician to adjust the ADF magnification level. To adjust the ADF magnification
level, perform the following steps:

Use the plus or minus buttons to scroll through the magnification values. The values are 1.000, 1.005, 1.007, .
980, .985, .990 and .995.

Press the check button to accept the value. Press
X
on the screen to exit the test.
Exit Diags
Select this to exit the Diagnostics menu. The printer performs a POR, and restarts in normal mode.
This menu appears as a soft button at the bottom right corner of the panel. This is always accessible to the user
from the main Diagnostics menu.
