To descend a major obstacle (e.g. to go down stairs), always use an assistant! The 

assistant should first tilt the wheelchair until the front wheels are off ground slightly, 

then move the chair forwards slowly.

 

 

  

 

Should you have to be carried over certain obstacles, please make sure to request the 

assistance of at least two persons. It is of great importance to inform the assistants 

that the wheelchair should be lifted by the solid parts only.

Keep in mind that handling any sort of obstacles on your own can be very demanding. 

You should be aware of the tendency of the wheelchair to tip over backwards when
