SOLID WALL INSTALLATION
For mounting to solid walls, such as concrete, brick, cinder block, etc.,
additional materials will be required.
Note:
•
Solid Wall installation is NOT recommended for the EVB16.
•
You will need to procure anchors for the bracket suitable for the
substrate to which it will be mounted.
•
For EVB22, surface mount electrical box, electrical conduit and
applicable mounting hardware will be required.
1. Locate the wall area in which the charging station will be
installed.
2. Measure 48” up from the floor and place a mark on the wall.
3. Position and affix the mounting template on the wall, aligning the
positioning marks of the template with the mark(s) on the wall.
Ensure the template is level before proceeding
(see Figure 4).

4. Mark the mounting location for the receptacle electrical box.
5. Remove the template. Install wall anchors for bracket and
electrical box as per manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall. Turn the "top" screw into
the anchor and drive in until approximately 1/2" length remains.
Hook the bracket onto the screw using the keyhole slot. Secure in
place by installing remaining screw and tightening first screw.
7. Run an individual 20A branch circuit (12 AWG wire min) as per the
National Electric Code and local building codes. Install the electrical
box. Use appropriate wall anchors to mount surface electrical box in
the location indicated by the template. The EVK02 series kit includes
a NEMA 6-20 receptacle. Back- or side-wire accepts up to #10AWG
copper or copper clad wire.
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH TURN OFF
POWER
AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST THAT POWER IS
OFF BEFORE WIRING!
CAUTION: USE THIS DEVICE WITH COPPER OR COPPER CLAD
WIRE ONLY.
8. Remove insulation per "strip gage" on device. Connect the
receptacle to the electrical wiring as per
Figure 3.
Secure the receptacle to the electrical box using the screws
provided.
NOTE: Receptacle ground opening must be on top (see Figure 3).

9. Turn on the circuit breaker at the main panel and test receptacle
to ensure power is present.
10. Install the safety cover using screws provided. NOTE: The
hinged side of the safety cover will be at the bottom of the cover.
The safety cover can be locked using a padlock with a shackle
diameter of 3/16” and height of 2-1/2”, such as MasterLock
®
Laminated Padlock No. 7LJ *.
