WEP Screen (WCS-2000 only)
This screen is accessed by clicking the
Configure WEP
button on the
Network
screen. An
example WEP screen is shown below.

WEP Encryption
WEP Encryption
Select the option used on your Wireless LAN.
•
None
- This is the default. If selected, data is NOT encrypted
before being transmitted.
•
64 Bit Encryption
- If selected, data is encrypted, using the
default key, before being transmitted.
You must enter a default key.
Other Wireless stations must be set to use 64 Bit Encryption, and
have the same Key value in the same position in their key table.
•
128 Bit Encryption
- If selected, data is encrypted, using the
default key, before being transmitted.
You must enter a default key.
Other Wireless stations must be set to use 128 Bit Encryption, and
have the same Key value in the same position in their key table.
Passphrase
The
Passphrase
feature will generate a Key from the phrase you enter,
which may be easier than entering keys in Hex (0~9 and A~F).
To use the
Passphrase
feature, enter the desired Passphrase in the field
provided, and click the
Generate
button.
Default Key
Select a key to be used as the default key.
Key Value
If WEP Encryption is used, you must enter at least one key value, for
the
Default Key
. All transmissions are encrypted using the
Default Key
.
Other wireless stations must use the same key value in the same
position in their key table. (It does not have to be selected as the default
key.)
