10.2.2
Detailed description of the bits (input byte 0)
Bit 2: Service mode active: SMA
Bit 5: Data loss: DL
This bit is important for monitoring data transmission in Transparent and Collective mode.
Bit 7: New data: ND
This bit is only relevant in Transparent mode.

The SMA bit is set if the service switch is set to "MA" or
"DEV", i.e. if the device is in either fieldbus gateway or Leuze
device service mode. This is also indicated by a flashing PWR
LED on the front side of the device. Upon changing to the
normal operating mode "RUN", the bit is reset.

(Data transmission monitoring)
This bit is set if gateway data could not be sent to the PLC
and were lost. Furthermore, this bit is set in case the config-
ured data frame, e.g. 8 bit, should be smaller than the data
to be transmitted to the PLC, e.g. bar code with 20 digits. In
this case, the first 8 digits are transmitted to the PLC, the rest
are truncated and are lost. In this process, the Data loss bit
is also set.

(new data)
This bit is toggled on each data set that is sent from the gate-
way to the PLC. This can be used to differentiate between
multiple, identical data sets that are sent to the PLC.
