Memory module
Note:
The memory modules are extremely sensitive to ESD. Ensure that you read and understand “Handling
static-sensitive devices” on page 40 first and carefully perform the operation.

Memory module installation rules
Features
Your server has four memory slots.
• Each slot supports 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB double data rate 4 (DDR4) unbuffered dual inline memory
modules (UDIMMs) with Error Checking and Correcting (ECC) technology.
• The minimum system memory is 4 GB (only one 4 GB memory module installed).
• The maximum system memory is 64 GB (one 16 GB memory module installed in each memory slot).
Guidelines
• Memory
modules
from
different
manufacturers
are
supported.
• All
memory
modules
to
be
installed
must
be
the
same
type
with
the
same
voltage.
• If
your
server
comes
with
2400
MHz
memory
modules
and
a
microprocessor
that
supports
a
maximum
of
2133
MHz
memory,
the
data
rate
of
your
memory
modules
will
be
limited
to
2133
MHz.
• If
you
mix
memory
modules
with
different
frequencies
in
the
same
server,
all
the
memory
modules
run
at
the
speed
of
the
memory
module
with
the
lowest
frequency
.
• If
you
install
memory
modules
with
different
capacity,
install
the
memory
module
that
has
the
highest
capacity
first.
