If you are replacing a server component or installing an optional device in the server, you need to take
out the node out from the rack enclosure, turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all
external cables.
To remove the air baffle, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Remove the compute node (see “Removing a compute node from a chassis” on page 77).
Step 2.
Place your fingers under the front and back of the top of the air baffle; then, lift the air baffle
out of the server.

Attention:
For proper cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before you turn on the server.
Operating the server with the air baffle removed might damage server components.
Installing the air baffle
Use this information to replace the air baffle.
