To safely remove the secure drive from the operating system, do the following: 

1.  Save and close all the files on your secure drive. 

2. Click

Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media

 icon in the Windows

 notification area on the taskbar. Then click 

the secure drive to eject it from the operating system.
