Change or remove hard disk password
1. Start the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.

3. Change or remove the hard disk password.
• To change or remove master hard disk password, select
Change Master Password
and press Enter.
Note:
If you remove the master hard disk password, the user hard disk password will also be
removed.
• To change user hard disk password, select
Change User Password
and press Enter.
Note:
If you delete the master password, the user hard disk password will be removed together.

Use the fingerprint reader
Selected models include a fingerprint reader. You can use the reader to enroll your fingerprints. After
enrolling, you can tap your finger on the fingerprint reader to log in to Windows.
Enroll your fingerprints
Open the Start menu and then click
Settings

Sign-in options
. Then, follow the on-screen
instructions to finish the enrollment.
Notes:
• You need to add a Windows password before you can enroll fingerprints.
• It is recommended that you enroll more than one fingerprint in case of any injury to your fingers.
Maintain the fingerprint reader
To ensure that the fingerprint reader works correctly, do not:
• Scratch the surface of the fingerprint reader with anything hard.
• Use or touch the reader with a wet, dirty, wrinkled, or injured finger.
Use firewalls and antivirus programs
Your computer might be preinstalled with a firewall program. The firewall protects against computer Internet
security threats, unauthorized access, intrusions, and Internet attacks. It also protects your privacy.
A full version of antivirus program is provided with a free 30-day subscription. After 30 days, you must renew
the license to continue receiving the antivirus program updates.
