Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is 
cool.

Replacement procedure

1.  Remove the computer stand. See “Computer stand” on page 57.

2.  Remove the computer cover. See “Computer cover” on page 59.

3.  Remove the internal speakers. See “Internal speakers” on page 61.

4.  Remove the storage drive. See “Storage drive” on page 65.

5.  Remove the optical drive. See “Optical drive” on page 67.

6.  Disconnect the optical drive cable from the storage drive bracket.

7.  Remove the storage drive bracket.

8.  Install the storage drive bracket. 

9.  Reconnect the optical drive cable to the storage drive bracket.

10.  Reinstall the removed parts. Then, reconnect the power adapter and all disconnected cables to the 

computer.

Note:

If a locking device is available, use it to lock the computer.
