7. Using the cursor keys, move to an item you want to set. When that item is highlighted, press Enter.
8. Using the cursor keys, select the setting you want to use and press Enter. A Notice window is displayed,
saying
Changes have been saved
and presenting you with a choice
Continue
.
9. Press Enter to continue.
10. Using the cursor keys, make other fingerprint settings depending on your needs.
11. Press F10 to exit.
12. In the Setup Confirmation window, select
Yes
to save configuration changes and exit.
Enrolling your fingerprints for BIOS passwords
To enroll your fingerprints for BIOS passwords (power-on and hard disk drive passwords), do the following:
1. Depending on your operating system, do one of the following:
• Click
Start
➙
All Programs
➙
ThinkVantage
➙
ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software
. The
ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software window opens.
• Click
Start
➙
All Programs
➙
Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools
. Then, double-click
Fingerprint
Reader
. The ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software window opens.
2. Enter your Windows password and click
Submit
.
3. When a dialog with two hands appears, select a finger to enroll by clicking the corresponding
Windows
button above the finger. The Enrollment window opens.
4. Swipe the selected finger over the fingerprint reader on your computer. Keep scanning until the progress
bar reaches 100%. Then, you will return to the dialog with two hands and there will be a green circle
around the image of the finger you just enrolled and the
Windows
button above the finger is highlighted.
5. Do one of the following depending on your operating system:
• (Only if supported by your computer) A
Power-on
button is displayed above each finger. Click
the
Power-on
button above the selected finger. The selected finger will be used instead of your
power-on and/or hard disk drive passwords at system startup.
• Click
Settings
. The Settings window opens. Do the following:
a. In the
Power-on Security
area, select
Use fingerprint scan instead of power-on and hard
drive passwords.
b. Click
OK
. There will be a highlighted
Power-on
button above the image of the finger you just
enrolled, indicating that you have successfully enrolled your fingerprints for BIOS passwords.
