2. Connections
T4MA

is fitted with a balanced input with COMBO

connector and an output with XLR-M connector to send
the signal another units. (

fi g. 5

).

For the connection of the mixer output to the T4MA input
make use of BALANCED signal cables with XLR or 1/4"
JACK connectors (

fi g. 4

).

The input level of the incoming signal can be set using
the VOL control. If the control is rotated fully clockwise
the nominal input sensitivity (+4dB) is selected. If
needed, you can reduce the input gain turning the
control counter clockwise.

   Power supply cable socket.

2.

   ON/OFF switch with LED indicator.

3.

Balanced COMBO socket for the input signal

connection.

4.

Balanced XLR-M socket for the signal linking to a

second unit.

5.

Control for separating the electrical earth from that

of the chassis.

6.

   Two-color LED that illuminates when there’s a

signal present at the unit’s input (GREEN color) or
when the internal LIMITER is active (RED color).

7.

   Input level control.

8.

16-position encoder for the PRESET’s selection.

7. PRESETS

The PRESETS available in the

T4MA

have been

prepared by LEM with the support of sound engineers
and audio technicians in order to provide the monitor
with different acoustical and dynamic responses suitable
for different applications, different kind of signal and
different tastes. Unlike the conventional loudspeaker
systems, T4MA is able to give you exactly the kind of
sound you prefer or you need for your applications. For
the PRESET’s choice we suggest not only to follow the
directions you can fi nd below, but also to rely on the
listening and on your personal evaluations.

T4MA

includes two groups of 8 PRESETS each. The

PRESETS of the two groups are identical, the only
difference being the fact that in the first group the
NOISE GATE PLUGIN is used, while in the second
group the PLUGIN ANTI-FEEDBACK is used.
In the

fi g. 7

at the end of this manual you can fi nd the

response diagrams of all the PRESETS.

01. FULL RANGE:

 this is the T4MA DEFAULT

PRESET, giving the typical response of the
monitor and suitable for the most common
applications where the reproduction of the whole
audio program is required.

02. VOCAL1:

derived from the previous one, includes

a High-Pass Filter to remove undesired low
frequencies and is particularly suitable for the
reproduction of human voice.

03. VOCAL2:

derived from the previous one, includes,

together with the High-Pass Filter, also a Low-
Pass Filter to remove undesired high frequencies.
Therefore all the monitor effi ciency is focused
on the mid range in order to obtain the best
reproduction of human voice.

04. GUITAR :

this PRESET has been prepared for

guitar players looking for a monitor optimized for
the reproduction of guitar sounds. It can be used
also directly connected to digital guitar preamps
with physical modelling and effects, in MONO or
STEREO systems.

05. PIANO:

this PRESET has been prepared to

provide the best response for the reproduction
of acoustic piano sounds. It is also suitable for
electric pianos (RHODES, WURLITZER) and
organ sounds.

06. DSW:

 this PRESET includes a

crossover fi lter on the low frequencies for the use
of the monitor together with the LEM T5SA sub-
woofer in DRUMFILL systems (see also fi g.3)

07. PAIR:

this PRESET includes a slight cut in the

low frequency region and an enhancement of
the very high frequencies in order to optimize the
monitor response when two or more units are used
together.

08. ONSTAGE:

this PRESET has been prepared to

improve the response of the monitor when it is
placed on a suspended stage made of wood or
metal. It includes some adjustments to reduce
the resonance of the stage and to recover the
effi ciency lost in the very low region.

ATTENTION!
The following eight PRESETS, marked with the AFB
abbreviation, are identical to the previous eight,
but they include the use of the ANTI-FEEDBACK
PLUGIN instead of the NOISE GATE PLUGIN.

8. The protection system

The DPPM module includes a series of digital algorithms
that allows very high level of protection of the speakers
and the amplifi ers to be achieved (see

fi g. 2

).

PEAK LIMITERS

: they are able to avoid with

extreme precision the amplifi er’s clipping and, at the
same time, to control the maximum peak power sent
to the loudspeakers. The SIGNAL/LIMIT LED on the
module’s panel lights (RED color) when the LIMITERS
are active.
