Please read these installation instructions
carefully before installing this garden socket
column and keep them for future reference and
pass them on to third parties if necessary.
1. Safety instructions
The installation of the garden socket column may only be done
by a qualified electrician.
Only operate the product if it functions properly.
In the event of a fault, you must not touch the product. Switch
off the product immediately at an external switch. Touching the
product or continuing to operate it in the event of a fault can
result in danger to life through burns, electric shock or fire.
How to detect a fault:
- The product does not work properly (e.g.: cannot be switched on)
- the product smokes, crackles or smells burnt
- the product overheats (discoloration, also on adjacent surfaces)
Only operate the product again after it has been repaired and
checked by an approved electrician!
2. Intended use
This garden socket column may:
- only be operated with a voltage of 230V ~50Hz.
- only be connected according to protection class I (one).
- only be used in accordance with protection class IP44.
- only in connection with a plug that is also splash-proof (IP 44).
- only be operated when firmly mounted on a stable, level
surface.
- are not exposed to strong mechanical stress.
- not be changed or modified.
- are not operated in locations with high heat generation.
Before the garden socket column is moved, it must be discon-
nected from the power supply. All connected power appliances
must also be unplugged.
If the garden socket column should tip over, make sure that no
water has penetrated before putting it into operation again.
Do not plug several sockets in a row. Do not operate sockets
with covers.
The product is not intended for use by children. Ensure that
children do not damage the product, e.g. by burning on hot
surfaces or by electric shock.
If the garden socket column is not used as intended, especially
if moisture penetrates the garden socket column, there is a
danger to life from burns, electric shock or fire.
3. Maintenance and care
The following environmental influences can have undesirable
effects on the surface of the product:
- acid rain and soil, high salt content in the air
- Cleaning agent, fertilizer especially for flower beds
- Road salt, other chemical substances (e.g. pesticides)
Protect the product by taking appropriate measures to prevent
changes to the surface.
Disconnect the entire product from the power supply and allow
it to cool down before cleaning or servicing the product.
Clean the product regularly - only with a slightly moistened, soft
and lint-free cloth.
4. Storage
• The product must be stored in a dry place, protected from dirt
and mechanical stress.
• After a damp or dirty storage, the product may only be opera
-
ted after a condition check by an approved electrician.
5. Disposal (European Union)
• Do not dispose of the product in household waste! Pro
-
ducts with this symbol must be disposed of in accordance
with the directive (WEEE, 2012/19/EU) on waste electrical
and electronic equipment via the local collection points
for waste electrical and electronic equipment!
6. Installation instructions
1. disconnect the building‘s mains power supply and secure it
against being switched on again. To do this, trigger the corres-
ponding circuit breaker of the building installation.
2. pull the connection box (1) out of the garden socket column.
Loosen the four screws (2) and remove the cover of the con-
nection box (1). Loosen the strain relief (3).
3. Connect the connection cable on the building side to the ter-
minal block inside the junction box (1) as shown in Figure 2.
4. Fix the connection cable with the strain relief (3) and close the
connection box (1). Tighten the screws (2) hand-tight.
5. mount the garden socket column on solid ground or with a
ground spike using the screws and dowels provided.
6. Switch the power supply on again. The installation is now
complete.
