Troubleshooting
Symptom
Toy does not turn on or does not
respond
Audio is too soft
Personalization info is
incorrect or garbled
Toy stays in “Personalization Mode”
instead of playing or goes into
“Personalization Mode” when you
press On/Off
Toy is asking to personalize a
cartridge, when you want to
update basic personal info
Toy makes strange sounds or
behaves erratically or makes
improper responses
Try This
• Make sure Volume switch on battery box is set to “Low” or “High.”
If switch is set to “Off” toy will not respond.
• Make sure batteries are correctly installed.
• Make sure battery cover is securely attached.
• Remove batteries and put them back in.
• Clean battery contacts with rubbing alcohol.
• Install new batteries.
• If using cartridge, check to see if cartridge is inserted properly.
• Check volume switch on battery box. Set it to “High” if it is on “Low.”
• Install new batteries.
• Use the
Make-a-Message Recorder
to redo the appropriate
personalization questions.
• Make sure the
Make-a-Message Recorder
is in place.
It must be latched securely into the battery box.
• If a cartridge is plugged in, the toy will personalize the cartridge.
To personalize basic information, remove the cartridge.
• Install new batteries.
• Clean battery contacts with rubbing alcohol.
Important
: MY OWN LEARNING LEAP™ Interactive Friend cannot play if the Make-a-Message
Recorder is not latched securely in Leap’s back. See page 5, step 4 for instructions on properly
storing the Recorder.
Care and Maintenance:
• Keep product away from food and beverages. • Never use in water or submerge toy in water.
• To clean, use a slightly damp cloth
• Remove batteries for prolonged storage.
