Starting the Engine
Important:
The mower has a safety switch that
prevents you from starting the mower unless you first
install the mulch plug or the grass bag securely on
the mower.
1. Install the mulch plug (Figure 21) or the grass bag
(Figure 22) on the mower.

2. Turn the fuel valve lever to the On position (Figure 23).

3. Move the choke lever to the Choke position (Figure 24).

4. Hold the blade control bar against the handle and
immediately start the engine using either the ignition
key or the recoil starter (Figure 25).
