Pre-Operation Equipment Inspection Checklist
Perform the following equipment inspection prior to each operation of the Articulator.
q
With the tractor and Articulator parked on level ground, verify that the Articulator is properly
mounted to the tractor and secure.
q
Verify that the PTO shaft is properly mounted and secure.
q
Check the oil level in the gearbox.
q
Inspect area around and under the gearbox for any oil leakage.
q
Check the deck drive belt and idler tension spring for proper installation, tension and condi-
tion.
q
Check all deck belts and idler tension springs for proper installation, tension and condition.
q
Inspect all blades for proper installation, orientation, tightness, sharpness, and overall condi-
tion.
q
Set the mower deck height to the desired level.
q
Verify proper function of all gauge wheels.
q
Verify that all warning decals are in place, visible and legible.
q
Verify that all covers and safety devices are properly installed and secure.
q
Check that the discharge chute is clear of debris, properly mounted, and in good condition.
q
Inspect entire Articulator for loose or entangled parts, debris, obstructions, or neglected
tools.
q
Perform all safety, set-up, and pre-operation procedures listed in your tractor manual.
q
Complete the appropriate maintenance checklist (section 5).
