Dimmer:
a. Dimmer mode
Switching on/off: Keep the operating button pressed for half
a second. Increasing (decreasing) output brightness: Turn
the operating button clockwise (anti-clockwise). Saving the
current brightness: When the equipment is switched off, the
current level of brightness is saved. The brightness of the
LED is synchronized with the brightness of the laser.
b. Pulse shift mode (possible only when the equipment is
switched on) Switching on: Press the operating button twice
in rapid succession within one second (double click). Increa
-
sing (decreasing) frequency: Turn the operating button
clockwise (anti-clockwise). Switching off: Press the operating
button briefly. Return to the dimmer mode. The flashing of
the LED is synchronized with the laser.
c. SOS emergency signal
Keep the operating button pres
-
sed down for seven seconds. The
flashing of the LED is synchronized
with the laser. To switch off, press
the operating button briefly.
If the button is kept pressed un
-
interruptedly for more than 30 se-
conds, the dimmer switches off automa
-
tically. Operation finishes without actuation after one hour.
Congratulations! You have bought a LASERLUCHS® laser dimmer! The laser dimmer has been
specially developed for LASERLUCHS® IR laser Illuminators and makes possible infinite adjustment
of the output brightness.
The LASERLUCHS® laser dimmer is compatible with all LASERLUCHS® IR laser Illuminators and
provides you with a large number of innovative functions such as single-handed operation, battery
voltage monitoring and a microprocessor-controlled pulse shift mode, which provides excellent
results when it is misty, raining or snowing. In addition, it is possible to use the Illuminator to emit
the international SOS signal in the event of an emergency so as to attract the attention of rescuers
using night vision scopes.
1. Purpose:
The dimmer is intended for use with LASERLUCHS® laser
Illuminators and controls the intensity of the IR laser.
Warning:
Do not operate the dimmer in areas where the-
re is a risk of explosions. Do not operate the dimmer un-
der water. If water penetrates the housing, it may lead to
malfunctions or permanent damage. Have the dimmer re-
paired only by an authorized specialist workshop or by the
LASERLUCHS® customer service. Do not make any modifi-
cations to the dimmer. Serious risks may result from incor-
rect operation or use as well as from modifications made
to the dimmer. The sole power source must be batteries of
the type CR123A or lithium ion batteries of the type CR123.
Note:
Remove the battery if you are not using the laser
dimmer over a longer period of time. Do not short-circuit
or swallow the battery. Do not throw it onto a fire.

3. Description/operation
The LASERLUCHS® dimmer makes possible infinite adjustment
of the output brightness from 0 – 100%. This means that the
intensity of illumination can be adapted to the user’s require-
ments: for example, so as to respond to different ambient le-
vels of brightness and to improve the contrast of the night vi-
sion scope. The dimmer has been designed in such a way that
it can be operated comfortably in one hand. An intelligent con-
trol system prevents the battery from discharging in the event
of its being operated unintentionally, e.g. during transportati-
on. The use of glass fibre optics and two-tone LED as a visual
display provides information on the operating condition
of the IR laser Illuminator and prevents unintentional
illumination of the user.
4. Preparation of the IR laser Illuminator
1) Unscrew the switch of the laser Illuminator and remove
the battery and spacer tube. The spacer tube is fastened with
silicone, but it may be released by being pulled out using one
finger. Any silicone residues must be completely removed
before screwing down.
2) Place the battery into the dimmer, by first inserting the
battery with the minus pole toward the spring.
3) Screw down into the Illuminator until there is closure with
the rubber seal.
