SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

Maintain reel by following the service instructions given below. Refer all other repairs, other than those
listed, only to an authorized service person or directly to Larson Electronics. Failure to do so can result in
personal injury and/or equipment damage and may void the warranty.

WARNING:

Remove power from reel before performing the following procedures.

1. I

nspect reel for damage. Turn by hand to check for smooth operation. Check for

completeness.

2. If needed to c

onfigure reel for top, side or bottom-wind (bottom-wind for constant tension

reels only)

electrical cord dispensing by removing screws, securing guide arm bracket.

Determine new

guide arm location and remove corresponding screws. Position guide arm

bracket to reel and

replace screws.

3.

Connect power to reel.

CAUTION:

Unless the reel was specified differently when ordering, the maximum installation

height is 16 feet. Do not exceed this distance.

WARNING:

Ensure that the power supply voltage does not exceed maximum voltage rating of

reel. Observe applicable NEC. OSHA, and local electrical codes.

SPRING TENSION

If necessary, adjust spring tension on reel by adding or removing wraps of electrical cord from
spool, one wrap at a time, until desired tension is obtained. Add wraps to increase tension.
Remove wraps to decrease tension.

WARNING:

When adding wraps of electrical cord, be careful not to exceed the winding

mechanism’s spring capacity. Add just enough wraps of cord to achieve the desired tension.
Damage to the winding mechanism will result if spring is over-tensioned.

Always beware of spring tension on reel. Exercise extreme caution.

CAUTION:

To eliminate heating and damage to reel cord, pull all cord from reel if electrical load

approaches maximum rating.

QUADPOD

The quadpod assembly consists of 4 parts:

1.

T-head

2.

Extension Pole

3.

Leg Base

4.

The quadpod can be rolled around on its wheels. Ensure the legs are folded up before tilting quadpod
to maneuver.

Use appropriate measures to attach equipment to the top of T-head. Predrill holes through top and
bottom and utilize bolts for mounting heavy equipment.

WARNING:

Use caution before tilting quadpod with a heavy load. For heavy loads, it is

recommended to remove the T-head prior to transporting via wheel base! Failure to do so may cause
serious injury. Larson Electronics shall not be held liable for injuries caused by misuse.
