Mounting the Plate
1.
Begin by removing the third brake light with a
Phillips screwdriver
. There are 2 screws holding
this in place.
2.
Carefully remove the light housing to reveal bulbs
attached to the housing.
3.
Rotate each bulb assembly or unplug the wire
harness. Undo the plastic retainers if necessary.
The taillight assembly should be completely free and
separated from the truck. This will be reattached
once the plate is installed.
4.
Grab your new mount and locate the hardware. There should
be two aluminum tap squares and screws. These help hold the
mount in place without adding excessive stress to the brake
light screws.
5.
Inspect the gasket on the backside of the plate to ensure the
surface is free of any defects or foreign material.
