BALLAST MAINTENANCE:
Although no routine maintenance is required to keep the
backup micro inverter functional, it should be checked
periodically to ensure that it is working. The following
schedule is recommended:
1.
Visually inspect the charging indicator light monthly.
It should be illuminated.
2.
Test the emergency operation of the fixture at 30-
day intervals for a minimum of 30 seconds. The
lamp should operate at full illumination.
3.
Conduct a 90-minute discharge test once a year.
The lamp should operate at full illumination for at
least 90 minutes.
Refer any servicing indicated by these checks to
qualified personnel!
BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
In order to replace ballast battery, power to fixture must
first be disconnected. It is advised to dismount the fixture
and proceed on a workbench.
Use caution when replacing battery.
1.
Remove the 22 bolts surrounding the ballast box to
free the top cover.
2.
You will also need to dismount the bug eye and exit
lamps. 2 screws hold each to the back plate.
3.
Once free, lift the entire assembly off to reveal the
internal ballast box wiring. You will see the battery
connected to the ballast.
4.
Remove and disconnect the battery. It is connected
via quick connector.
5.
Replace with new battery matching specs.
6.
Once new battery is installed and working, replace
the top cover and light assembly.
7.
Replace the 22 screws for the ballast box cover and
the 2 screws for each lamp.
8.
Make sure all screws have been replaced and return
fixture to installed area.
9.
Energize to resume normal operation.
Dispose of the battery properly. Do not incinerate.
