Connecting to NMEA 0183
If connecting the LT-300 GNSS Receiver to a NMEA 0183 device, it is only required to connect the transmit
part of the NMEA 0183 wires TxD- (Brown) and TxD+ (Yellow) from the communication cable.
NOTE:
Make sure that the LT-300 GNSS Receiver is configured for the desired baud rate (4800 or
38400 baud), see NMEA 0183 Baud Rate on page 20. Check that both the NMEA 0183 receive
device and the LT-300 GNSS Receiver have the same GND reference, as illustrated in Figure 31
and Figure 32.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended to connect the LT-300 GNSS Receiver with a balanced NMEA 0183
connection (RS-422) as illustrated in Figure 31. An unbalanced connection (RS-232), as
illustrated in Figure 32, is less robust and should only be considered when using a short
communication cable.
