Danger: Fatal electric shock
The electric motor on the rotisserie (6) runs on a
230 V power supply.
Possible consequences:
• Fatal electrical shock
Precautions:
•
Never touch the mains plug with wet hands!
• The electrical connection and the requisite
safeguards must be carried out in accordance
with the local regulations of the EVU or the
VDE as appropriate.
• Insert the mains plug only into an earthed and
properly set up 230 V mains socket.
• When establishing the connection make sure
that the connecting cable does not come into
contact with hot parts of the barbecue or any
kind of moisture (e.g. puddles) and that nobo-
dy can trip over the cable. Protect the connec-
ting cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
• To increase safety we recommend installing a
residual-current circuit-breaker with a current
leakage of a maximum of 30 mA between the
socket and mains plug. Check that the residu-
al-current circuit-breaker is functioning before
each use.
• The length of the connecting cable may only
be increased using an H05VV-F or H05RN-F
extension cable. The coupling on the exten-
sion cable must be protected against splash
water and made of rubber, or rubber-coated.
• If a connecting cable is damaged it must not
be plugged into the socket. Do not attempt
to repair the connecting cables yourself but
rather entrust this to a trained electrician. The
same applies to any extension cables used.
• Protect the motor from moisture. Unplug both
mains plugs immediately if the barbecue is
exposed to, e.g., rain.
Assembly
Here are a few tips to help you assemble your barbe-
cue quickly and successfully:
• To make sure that no parts are missing, carefully
spread out all parts on a free surface (subject to
minor technical changes).
• If, despite careful factory checks, a component
should be missing, please contact our customer ser-
vice department (see last page). We will immedia-
tely attend to your request.
• To assemble the barbecue, all you need is a medi-
um-sized screwdriver.
• Only use tools that are intact and suitable for the
job at hand. Worn or unsuitable tools will not
allow you to tighten the bolts sufficiently, but will
damage them to the extent that they can no lon-
ger be turned.
• Always fit all connecting elements (screws, nuts,
bolts, et cetera) as shown in the illustrations. If you
misplace a connecting element, replace it with an
appropriate part. Only by doing this can you ensu-
re that the construction is strong and safe.
• Be sure to follow the instructions in the specified
order!
• Even if you are not experienced at DIY, assembly
does not generally take longer than one hour.
•
Before assembling the barbecue release
the transport lock by using a screwdriver to
remove the two screws (M6 x 25 mm)
on the barbecue hood (8).
