Hook-up Post Hole Digger
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
A crushing hazard exists when hooking-up and unhooking the
attachment. Do not allow anyone to stand between attachment
and power machine while approaching or backing away from
the attachment. Do not operate hydraulic controls while
someone is near the power machine and/or attachment.

To avoid serious injury or death:

Check hitch fit-up frequently. An improper fit-up can cause
the attachment to come loose from the loader hitch plate
•
Consult your power machine Operator’s Manual for
operating capacity, lifting capacity, and operating
specifications. Exceeding rated capacities and
specifications can result in loss of control, roll-over or other
Hook-Up Auger Hitch Plate
Refer to Figure 2-1:
1. Check loader and auger hitch plates before hooking-
up the loader to the auger hitch plate. Make sure all
components are in a good working condition before
putting them into service.
a. Check for and remove any debris in the loader
and auger hitch plates.
b. Check for structural cracks in the hitch plates.
Repair or replace hitch plates as needed.
c. Check hitch components frequently. Repair or
replace any part that is excessively worn, bent,
broken, or missing.
d. Lubricate lock pins (#2) at the prescribed interval
in your loader manual.
e. Check operation of lock handles (#1) and lock
pins (#2). Lock pins must move freely and extend
fully into the auger hitch plate slots (#5).
2. Raise lock pins (#2) by rotating handles (#1) up until
they stop.
3. Start tractor and drive slowly to auger hitch plate (#6)
while making sure the top of loader hitch plate (#3) is
parallel with angle bars (#4) on the auger hitch plate.
4. Tilt top of loader hitch plate (#3) slightly forward
and place the top of the loader hitch plate under the
auger hitch plate angled bars (#4).
5. Slowly raise top of loader hitch plate (#3) until it is
seated under angle bars (#4) on the auger hitch plate.
6. Tilt top of loader hitch plate (#3) back until loader
hitch plate face (#7) makes full contact with auger
hitch plate face (#6) and the auger hitch plate is
slightly off the ground.

Without changing loader height, shut tractor down
according to
page 10 before dismounting.
8. Lower lock pins (#2) by rotating handles (#1) fully
down as shown. If needed tap on top of lock pins (#2)
to drive them through bottom slots (#5).
9. Check hook-up to verify loader hitch plate (#7) is
properly locked to auger hitch plate (#6).
a. Make sure top of loader hitch plate (#3) is fully
seated under the auger’s top angle bars (#4).
b. Make sure face of loader hitch plate (#7) is seated
fully against the face of auger hitch plate (#6).
c. Make sure loader lock pins (#2) are fully inserted
through bottom slots (#5) in the auger hitch plate
and lock handles (#1) are fully down.

purchased with pioneer couplers or flat face
couplers. Refer to page 24 to verify your hose setup.
