Float Position Control Check
Refer to Figure 2-3:
Gauge wheels must be installed before setting tractor
operator levers to float position. Install gauge wheels per
instructions on page 26.
To make this functional check, ARM1 and ARM2 must be
extended about half way. The Rotary Cutter deck should
be resting on its gauge wheels.
1. Operate all three tractor console control levers and
lower gauge wheels to ground level.
2. Set only ARM2 and DECK control levers in float
position. Consult tractor manual if you are unsure of
where float position is for the tractor control levers.
3. Retract ARM1 control lever. ARM2 and DECK
cylinders should float (change position) allowing
deck gauge wheels to remain resting on the ground.
4. Return control levers to center detent position to
regain full control of ARM2 and DECK cylinders.
Flow Control (Turtle/Rabbit Adjustments)
Flow control adjustments are made in the Adjustment
“Turtle/Rabbit Flow Control at the
on page 38 for detailed instructions.
Control Lever Center Position Checks
Refer to Figure 2-3:
1. Operate tractor console control lever designated for
ARM1 by pushing it forward briefly to see which way
the inboard arm moves. It should extend outward. If
ARM1 retracts, switch hydraulic hoses at the duplex
outlet (See Figure 2-1 on page 29).
2. Repeat this procedure for ARM2 and DECK
cylinders.
3. After hose hook-up has been verified to be correct,
purge hydraulic cylinders of air in the order below.
