Adjust Deck Cutting Height
1.
At the cutting site, unfold wings and raise center deck
fully up with lift cylinder.
2. Without relieving hydraulics, shut tractor down
properly before dismounting. Refer to
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death: Stay clear from underneath
the cutter and directly behind transport tires. The cutter could
fall suddenly causing the decks to lower and tires to roll back.
3. Remove all stroke control spacers (#5) from center
hydraulic cylinder (#1) by spreading them apart at
the break line. Store spacers in a location they can be
retrieved.
4. Start tractor and engage blades. See
on page 36 for detailed instructions.
5. Using tractor control lever, adjust cutter to the desired
cutting height and then travel forward for
approximately 20 to 50 feet (6.10 to 15.24 m).
6. Without relieving hydraulics, shut tractor down
properly before dismounting. Refer to
7.
Measure height of cut grass/material. This distance
is the cutting height. If this height is acceptable,
continue with step 8. If this height is unacceptable,
repeat steps 4-7 until desired cutting height is
achieved.
8. Select required size and number of stroke control
spacers (#5) that will fit on the center hydraulic
cylinder (#1). The following spacers are available.
•
Two 1" (2.5 cm) spacers
•
One 1 1/4" (3.2 cm) spacer
•
One 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) spacer
•
One 1 3/4" (4.4 cm) spacer
9. Return to tractor and raise Rotary Cutter up again.
10. Without lowering the cutter, shut tractor down
properly before dismounting. Refer to
11. With tractor shut off and switch key removed, install
selected stroke control spacers on the center
hydraulic lift cylinder rod.
12. Restart tractor and lower cutter against stroke control
spacers.
NOTE:
Make all cutting height adjustments in the
field using height of cut grass/material as a guide.
Do not measure blade height above ground as the
non-operating blade height will be different than the
operating blade height.
NOTE:
Removing spacers lowers cutting height and
adding spacers raises cutting height.
13. Recheck cutting height using steps 4-7 above. If
needed, adjust size and quantity of stroke control
spacers until desired cutting height is achieved.
14. Keep remaining spacers with tractor for field
adjustments.
Wheel Spacing
Refer to
Each spindle receiver has two holes that the spindle can
be adjusted to. This helps in lining up the tires with row
crop spacing in shredding applications. See
on page 30 for hub measurements from center of the
cutter.
1.
Park tractor and cutter on a solid, level surface. Make
sure tractor hydraulics are set in float position with
wing decks fully down.
2. Shut tractor down properly before dismounting. Refer
to
3. Place a jack under axle (#3) and jack axle up until the
wheel (#4) is off the ground. Place a support block
under the axle and then lower the axle until it is
resting on the support block.
4. Remove 1/2"-13 X 3 1/4" GR5 bolt (#1) and 1/2" lock
nut (#2).
5. Determine whether hole A or B will best work for your
application.
6. Line up the hole in the shaft of wheel assembly (#4)
with the hole selected in step 5 and insert
1/2"-13 X 3 1/4" GR5 bolt (#1) then fasten with
1/2" lock nut (#2).
7.
Jack axle up to remove support block and then lower
jack and remove.
8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 to adjust wheels on center
deck and left wing (right wing shown in
Wheel Spacing (Right Wing Shown)
