DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
A crushing hazard exists while Connecting and disconnecting
the implement. Keep people and animals away while backing-
up to the implement or pulling away from the implement. Do
not operate hydraulic controls while a person or animal is
directly behind the power machine or near the implement.
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Lightweight tractors with rear attached implements may
need weights added to the front to maintain steering control.
Consult your tractor Operator’s Manual to determine
weight requirements and maximum limitations.
•
Always shut tractor down according to “Tractor Shutdown
Procedure” provided in this manual before allowing anyone
including the operator to hook up or unhook the implement.
A 3-point Category I or Category ll 3-point hitch is
required. The lower arms of the 3-point hitch must be
stabilized to prevent side-to-side movement. Most
tractors have sway blocks or adjustable chains for this
purpose.
NOTE:
Land Pride’s Quick Hitch can be attached to
the tractor to provide quick and easy 3-point hook-
up and detachment. See your nearest Land Pride
dealer to purchase a Quick-Hitch.
1. Determine your tractor’s hitch category.
a. A
Category I
tractor will have 7/8" dia. holes in the
lower hitch links and 3/4" dia. hole in the top link.
b. A
Category II
tractor will have 1 1/8" dia. holes in
the lower hitch links and 1" dia hole in the top link.
2. Slowly back tractor up to the Grading Scraper while
using the tractor’s 3-point hydraulic control to align
lower hitch arm holes with lower hitch holes.
3. Engage tractor park brake, shut tractor engine off,
and remove key before dismounting from tractor.
4. If your tractor has a Category II hitch, then insert
1 1/8" outside diameter bushings (#7) into the lower
hitch arm holes before installing hitch pins (#1).
Insert hitch pins (#1) through clevis lug holes and
lower hitch arm holes as shown. Secure hitch pins
with linchpins (#2)
5. Connect top center link (#6) to upper pivot hitch using
clevis pin (#3) and hairpin cotter (#4). If your tractor
hitch is a Category II hitch, then a 1" bushing (not
supplied) will be required to make the center link
hook-up.
6. Ensure that the lower hitch arms are stabilized to
prevent excessive side movement.
7.
Return to the tractor and slowly operate controls up
and down to check for clearance between scraper
frame, tractor tires, and tractor drawbar. Move or
remove drawbar if it interferes with the scraper.
8. See
“Level Scraper”
on page 9.
NOTE:
See Figure 1-2 below for correction location
of Cat. l and Cat. ll lower hitching points.
NOTE:
It may be necessary to start your tractor and
slowly raise the 3-point hitch about 1" to 2" to align
the center link with the center hitch pin hole.
