Level Disc Harrow
The disc harrow frame should be level when working soil.
That is to say, the front disc and rear disc should be in the
ground equal distances.
1.
Determine the amount of distance the hitch
assembly (#4) will need to be raised or lowered to pull
unit level while working ground.
2. Raise unit out of the ground and locate a level
surface to park.
3. Set vehicle’s park brake, shut off engine, chalk front,
and back wheels of the Plot Ranger and unhitch unit
from vehicle.
4. Level frame by removing two 5/8"-11 x 3 1/2" GR5
hex head cap screws (#6) and hex flange lock
nuts (#10).
5. Reposition hitch assembly (#4) by the predetermined
amount arrived in step 1.
6. Reinstall two 5/8"-11 x 3 1/2" GR5 hex head cap
screws (#6) and hex flange locknuts (#10). Tighten
nuts to the proper torque. Refer to
Torque Values
Chart
on page 32 for proper torque values.
7.
Repeat steps 1 to 6 if unit is still not level while
working a plot.
