DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Keep everyone out of the area where the wing decks will
unfold. One of the wing decks can fall suddenly.
•
Keep everyone away from the cutter when folding or
unfolding the wings or when raising or lowering the cutter.
The cutter can pinch or crush a person when performing
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
The wing decks are shipped leaning in. A person will need
to manually push the decks out past vertical to start their
descent to ground befor pushing on the wing decks.
•
Avoid entanglement with deck components while unfolding
the wing in assembly and sit-up. Make sure you are standing
on the center deck behind and away from the wing gearbox,
wing driveline, hydraulic folding cylinder, and hydraulic
•
Make certain your footing is secure and you are clear of any
possible pinch points or obstructions.
Refer to Figure 1-13 on page 19:
1. Make sure cutter is parked on a level surface.
2. Place gear selector in park, set tractor control lever
for the wing cylinder in float position, shut tractor
engine off or set park brake, and remove switch key.

3. See
“
DANGER
” and “
WARNINGS
” alerts on this
page. Shipping bar (#1) is factory installed between
the two wings for shipping purposes only. Remove
nuts (#8), carriage
bolts (#4), and shipping bar (#1).
4. See
“WARNING”
alerts on this page. Once you are
certain the area where the deck will unfold into is
clear and you are safely positioned on the center
deck, manually push on the right wing until it starts to
fall on its own. It should fall slowly as the hydraulic
line is orificed to control the fall. If it does not fall on its
own, then continue lowering the wing with tractor
hydraulics.
5. Repeat step 4 above to lower the left wing.
Refer to Figure 1-13:
6. After the wing has been lowered, loosen turnbuckle
jam nut (#7). Lengthen turnbuckle (#11) until center
of bolted swivel connections (#5) are approximately
10 1/2" apart. Tighten jamb nut (#7) to the proper
torque value against lock washer (#10).
7.
Transport locks (#2) are mounted backwards at the
factory for shipping. Remove four 1/2" nuts (#6), four
lock washers (#9), and one transport lock (#2) from
each hydraulic wing cylinder.
Refer to Figure 1-14:
8. Turn transport locks (#3) around and reinstall on the
hydraulic wing cylinders (#4 & #8) as shown with
removed lock washers (#2) and 1/2" nuts (#1). Make
certain the amber reflectors face toward the front and
the red reflectors face toward the back. Hold
transport lock up off the cylinder rod and tighten
1/2"-13 nuts (#1) to the correct torque.
