Air for cabin pressurization is obtained from the engine turbocharger
induction air system through four sonic ports. Bleed air is routed
through a separate heat exchanger to reduce temperature for improved
cabin comfort. Ambient air flows across the heat exchanger to cool the
bleed air.
Cabin air temperature is controlled by the CABIN TEMP control
located on the the instrument panel. The temperature valve selects
between cold air when pushed in and hot air when the valve is pulled
out. This control is also used to cool or heat the cabin in non-
pressurized flight when the dump valve is opened.
The air conditioning system consists of an engine driven compressor,
cabin mounted condenser, and evaporator mounted aft of the baggage
compartment. The air conditioner cools and recirculates the cabin air
through vents mounted in the overhead console. An on, off, and fan
speed control for the air conditioner is mounted in the overhead
console, an adjustible thermostat is located next to the bulkhead-
mounted condenser. There are inlet and exhaust ports located on the
bottom of the aircraft aft of the baggage compartment.
PRESSURIZATION CONTROLS
Cabin pressurization and temperature are controlled through 2 push-
pull cables, an inflatable door seal, and a Dukes Cabin Pressurization
Controller.
The two cables operate two separate valves in the Air Mixer / Diverter
Valve located on the engine firewall. The cabin temperature valve is
operated by PUSHING the CABIN TEMP control IN for cooler air,
and PULLING the control OUT for warmer cabin air. The Cabin
Dump valve is operated by PULLING the CABIN PRESSURE control
OUT to dump or divert the pressurization air overboard prior to its
reaching the cabin, and PUSHING the control IN to direct the
pressurization air into the cabin.
The inflatable door seal creates an airtight seal between the entrance
door and the doorframe. To inflate the seal, ensure the door is latched
and then activate the door seal pump using the switch located on the
door. To deflate the seal prior to opening or for non-pressurized flight
turn the door pump switch to the off position.
The Dukes Cabin Pressurization Controller is located on the instrument
panel and controls the cabin pressure outflow valve. The
pressurization system controls pressure in the cabin to a maximum of 5
PSID. This is done by regulating the exit of the air through the
outflow valve located under the rear seats. The selector has two
