4) if the fan is fed, replace the fan
5) if the fan is not supplied, check the ionisation control unit feeding
6) if the control unit is fed, check the fuse; if it is in good working order, replace the control unit
7) if the control unit is not fed, check:
A) control unit connections
B) main switch
C) adjusting thermostat
D) priority thermostat
If the fan operation pilot lamp lights up, after a few seconds the gas will start exiting from the main burner, and
the igniter will set the spark. Check that the spark is long about 5 mm. After 10 seconds maximum, the igniter
stops and the main burner remains on.
If the main burner does not ignite with the spark, make sure that:
1) the gas plant has completely bled
2) voltage is supplied to the gas valve
If the burner ignites but the spark still remains on and after a few seconds the ionisation control unit locks-out,
make sure that:
1) phase is connected to terminal 1 and neutral is connected to terminal 2 of the control panel
2) the ionisation electrode does not discharge to earth due to ceramic rupture, or due to wrong position or
humidity
3) the plant earthing is correct and the earth wire connected to the burner is correctly fixed
Shut off the boiler turning the main switch. Unscrew the pressure screw arranged on the pipe downstream of
the gas valve and connect the manometer. Tighten the upstream pressure intake screw again. Ignite by turning
the main switch and check that the gas pressure to the burner is as indicated in the technical data table. If not,
remove the pressure regulator plug from the gas valve and adjust the pressure to the indicated value, by
screwing or unscrewing using a screwdriver. Screw the pressure regulator plug again and seal it.
GAS TYPE CONVERSION
The ERA 31 BS 130 boilers are intended to operate with methane gas.
If they are to be used with LPG, order the relevant conversion kit from methane gas to LPG.
Conversion from Methane to LPG:
- Replace the burner nozzles (version T)
- Check the gas pipe – gas valve joint function with a manometer
- Exclude the pressure reducer and replace the pressure reducer plug with that supplied in the kit (only on
model T boilers)
- Check pressure upstream of the control box through the pressure outlet mounted on the gas delivery pipe
and adjust the plant pressure reducers so as to have the pressure indicated in the technical data table
- Seal the gas valve pressure regulator
- Stick the label “Boiler regulated for LPG” on the existing one.
