Installing the LairdShare
to your Workgroup
The Diagram below shows a typical LTM-LSHD
workgroup comprised of five networked computers.
This setup assumes that one machine is to be a
dedicated Final Cut Server.
To add the LTM-LSHD to your Workgroup
1. Connect DHCP server into the switch.
2. Plug both included power cords into the recessed power sockets on the rear of the LTM-LSHD. In order to ensure redundancy it
is important that both included power cords be plugged in. (Figure 1)
3. Plug a Gigabit Ethernet cord into the network interface connection labeled #1 on the bottom left side of the system. (Figure 2)
4. Plug this cable into the gigabit switch
5. Plug all workgroup computers into the Gigabit switch
6. Turn the LairdshareHD on . After completing it's startup procedure The LairdShareHD will appear in your list of network hosts.
1. For Apple OSX systems, the LairdShareHD announces itself using Apple's Rendezvous technology, so you will “just see it” from
the Finder and your applications.
2. For Windows systems, you will need to browse the Windows network. It will appear in a workgroup called LairdShare.
