1.5.1
How to load the vehicle
correctly
• Distribute the load evenly on the left and right sides
of the vehicle.
• Distribute the load evenly across the two axles,
front and rear.
• Heavy loads behind the rear axle can lighten
the front axle because of the lever effect. This
is especially true with a long rear overhang, if a
motorcycle is transported on the rear carrier or if
the garage/rear storage space is overloaded. Front
axle unloading adversely affects road behaviour,
especially on front-wheel drive vehicles.
It is the driver’s responsibility to comply with the
technically permissible maximum mass on each
axle, the technically permissible maximum laden
mass and technically permissible maximum laden
mass of the vehicle plus trailer combination.
WARNING
Installing optional equipment reduces the load
capacity.
WARNING
Overloading the vehicle and/or incorrect tyre
pressures may cause the tyres to burst resulting
in loss of vehicle control.
