6. Channel Selector
This switch is used to select any one of Citizens Band channels.
7. Channel Display
The large two-digit LED display indicates the operating channel number
8. S/RF METER
This meter displays relative transmitter RF output power when transmitting as well as incoming
signal strength when receiving. The meter is illuminated in two different colors : the blue illuminat-
ing when RX mode and the red illuminating when TX mode.
9. FM/AM
This key allows you to select the AM or FM operating mode in both RX and TX. The AM/FM op-
erating mode selection is possible only when it is enabled by the programmed frequency band.
10. ASQ ON/OFF
The ASQ is a feature that allows the radio to receive an incoming signal which is stronger than
the surrounding noise level.
This automatic switching function does not need any adjustment and works fully automatic. It
opens at any signal which is good enough to be heard.
The sensitivity of the ASQ system is very good. It can even open at signal strengths below the
nominal maximum usable sensitivity.
The only criterion is the reduction of noise on the receiving channel.
However, the ASQ function is limited to normal receiving conditions on the CB band. During
periods of strong over-range wave propagation, strong sun-spot activities and very strong inter-
ference signals it may open from time to time without a voice signal may be heard.
In such cases it may be better to use the standard manual squelch instead of the ASQ.
11. Filter ON/OFF
This feature is to eliminate the high noise of receiving signal and voice. It reduces the high noise
by -6dB.
12. CB/PA
In the “CB” position, the unit operates as a transceiver. You can use the PA (public address) func-
tion only when you connect a external speaker to the PA jack on the rear panel.
In this case the Mic gain knob controls the amplification level.
How to operate the Public Address
1) Connect a PA speaker to the PA jack provided on the rear panel.
2) Place PA/CB switch into the PA position.
3) Press the push-to-talk button on Mic and speak in a normal voice.
4) Adjust PA speaker volume by Mic gain control
