CONTROL AND OPERATION
Front Panel
1. Microphone Connector
Insert the microphone lead to this connector and turn the connector
ring in a clockwise to lock it.
2. Power On/Off and Volume Control
Use this knob to switch the radio ON and Off, as well as to adjust the receiver volume to the de-
sired level. To adjust the receiver volume (if no signals are received on the operating channel), open
the SQUELCH and then adjust the receiver volume using the background noise as a reference.
3. Mic (Microphone) Gain Control
In TX mode, it controls the microphone amplification. To get the best results, Use the microphone
and set the optimum position for both the distance from your mouth and for the amplification
level, asking your counter part when the modulation comes out better.
4. RF Gain Control
It controls the reception sensitivity. To increase sensitivity, simply turn it clockwise. Sensitivity
decrease by turning it counter clockwise. Low sensitivity is useful when very strong signals are
present in the band.
5. Squelch
The SQUELCH control allows you to silence the radio, blocking the background noise,
when no signals are received on the operating channel. Turn the SQUELCH knob clockwise until
the background noise stops. Turn the SQUELCH knob counterclockwise(SQUELCH opening) to
listen to the weakest signals.
