Getting Connected
Your LaCie hard drive comes pre-loaded with easy-
to-use backup software ready for installation on your
computer. LaCie 1-Click Backup is a basic file backup
program that allows you to backup files from different
source locations to one destination. SilverKeeper (Mac
only) allows you to create and schedule more complex
backups and allows the creation of more than one back-
up destination.

Shortcut Button allows you to launch LaCie 1-Click
Backup Software or the application or document of
your choice by pushing the Shortcut Button on your
LaCie hard drive (the “F button”). See
section 2.6,

for more information.
To install pre-loaded software:
When your LaCie hard drive is connected and has
appeared on the desktop (Mac) or in My Computer
(Windows), double-click on the drive icon to see its
contents.
Double-click the “Software” folder.
Mac users, copy the Mac Utilities folder onto your
computer. Windows users, copy the Windows Utili-
ties folder onto your computer.
Open the Utilities folder on your computer and dou-
ble-click the application icons (Fig. 2.4) to install the
software.
