5.3. Configuration Menu
By clicking on the
Configuration
tab, you will be
brought to the main page of the Configuration menu.
From this window you can see details about your net-
work, software and hardware, while also being able to
restart or shutdown your LaCie Ethernet Big Disk (Fig.
5.3.A).
Here you can change the Ethernet Big Disk’s name.
Type the name and click the
Submit Changes
button.
The default machine name for the LaCie Ethernet Big
Disk is “EthernetBD” (Fig. 5.3.1.A.).

The Configuration page
allows you to check the software version of your
drive.
TEChNICAl NOTE:
Machine name changes
will be registered in the local DNS servers ONLY
after a restart.

If you intend to use more
than one Ethernet Big Disk on your network, you
must change the default machine name. Each
Ethernet Big Disk must have a unique name.
