Lock Slot -
This slot is used to connect an anti-
theft chain lock, such as a Kensington security
lock*, for maximum protection.
2
Rackmount Grooves -
These grooves are used
for attaching your drive to the Drive Stand,
mounting in the Desk Rack kit (sold separately)
or placing your drive in standard 19” computer
equipment racks using the LaCie Rackmount
Kit (sold separately).
3
On/Off/Auto Power Switch -
The auto
position allows the drive to be powered on and
off automatically with your computer. This
feature also allows the drive to manage power
consumption. If the system’s power fan supports
it, the LaCie Big Disk will spin down
while in power save mode. The Big Disk
will then take several seconds to spin
up to full power.
