16. With
Quota Policy
, you can limit the capacity of a Shared Folder
(
Fig. 06
). The quotas may be:

Hard - Users and groups will not be able to write data once
the Shared Folder limit has been reached. The user will be
notified that the limit has been reached.
✦
Soft - Users and groups can still write data if the quota is
reached. For example, you can choose an “Extended Limit” or
a small “Extension” of the Shared Folder size.
TECHNICAL NOTE:
There are predefined quota templates in
Quota Policy
. However, to create custom quota templates or to en-
ter an email address for Shared Folder alerts, go to
File Server Re-
source Manager
. To set your custom quota template, go to
Server
Manager>Roles>File Services>Share and Storage Manage-
ment
. Right-click
File Server Resource Manager
and select
Con-
figure Options...
Please note that you cannot access
File Server Re-
source Manager
while running the
Provision a Shared Folder Wizard
.
