3.2 Options for gas expansion thermometer
3.2.1
Operation with capillary
Route the capillary in a fixed and low-vibration manner. Note the specified maximum per-
missible ambient temperature on the data sheet. Exceeding the specified temperature lim-
its can affect the measuring result.
3.2.2
Operation with contact sensor
Fix the slightly U-shaped temperature probe to the pipe with steel strips. Insulate the
measuring point and the temperature probe to the ambient temperature to ensure that the
measuring result is not affected. With the “adjustable display“ option it is possible to rotate
the housing around ±180° to the pipe after installation by loosening the screw connections,
thereby achieving the optimum position.
3.2.3
Operation with inline temperature sensor, type FS2xx0 / FS3xx0
The inline temperature sensor is integrated in the pipe and the entire surface of the inner
pipe wall acts as a temperature sensor. The measurement is all the more precise, the low-
er the viscosity of the process media. Insulate the measuring point to the ambient tem-
perature to ensure the measuring result is not affected.

Operation
During operation, take care that the device remains within its intended pressure and tem-
perature ranges. No other monitoring is necessary.
The permissible ambient and media temperature depends on the type of device and its
design. This information can be found in the relevant data sheet.
4.1 Maintenance / Service
When properly installed in accordance with applicable specifications, this device is
maintenance-free. However, we recommend an annual recalibration of the device.
