Resetting a Circuit Breaker:
To reset any of the circuit breakers located on the top of the unit near the power
cord outlet, depress the white button until it sets.
The service operations listed in the rest of this chapter should
only be performed by a qualified certifier.
Downflow Velocities
The average downflow velocity for Open Access Station models 3820000, -01, -10
& -11 should be set at 55 ±5 FPM.
For models 3820020-38 it should be 50-55 FPM.
Downflow Velocity Grid Patterns
The downflow velocity test grid for all Open Access Stations is as follows:
On the 5FT model, the downflow test pattern is a grid of three rows of 8 test points
per row, yielding a total of 24 test points. On the 4FT model, the Downflow test
pattern is a grid of three rows of 6 test points per row, yielding a total of 18 test
points. A line running from side to side at the center of the work surface and two
additional lines 6.00 inches on either side of the centerline define the rows.
Individual test points on each row are 6.00 inches (7.00 inches on 4FT model) in
from the vertical uprights on both sides, and 6.07 inches apart from point to point.
All points are read at the bottom edge of the sash.
Exhaust Volume Calculation
1. Raise the station to its maximum height and start the unit.
2. Take a series of 5 velocity readings along the centerline of the bottom
diffuser, 2 inches below the diffuser, with the thermal anemometer placed
in line with the center five screws that secure the lower edge of the front
panel.
3. Average the velocities and multiply the average by the open area of the
filter (3.77 square feet on 4 FT & 5.11 square feet on 5 FT models); this
yields the Exhaust Volume in CFM.
4. The Exhaust Volume corrected for local conditions, should be:
