Auto-Secure: the STE will automatically initiate a secure voice call, unless changed prior to
placing the call.
•
Secure-Only: the STE will always initiate a secure voice call and will not allow non-secure
communications.
NOTE
If the INITIAL SECURE MODE: menu ( Figure 4-31 ) is set to “SECURE-ONLY”
and the STE is zeroized, it will not reset to the default mode of “AUTO-SECURE”
but will remain in the “SECURE-ONLY” mode.
The default setting is AUTO-SECURE as shown in the INITIAL SECURE MODE menu (
Figure 4-31 ).

Press CHANGE to select the desired mode.
Then press SCROLL to advance to the CHANGE TPA PASSWORD menu.
4-5.1.2 Change TPA Password
Refer to Paragraph 4-3.1 . When DONE is pressed at the ENTER NEW TPA PASSWORD menu, the
display advances to the TERMINAL CONFIGURATION CONTROL menu.
4-5.1.3 Remote Control
The REMOTE CONTROL menu ( Figure 4-32 ) determines whether the remote control capability of the
STE can be used. From the TERMINAL CONFIGURATION CONTROL menu, press SELECT then
SCROLL until the REMOTE CONTROL menu is displayed. The default setting is DISABLED as shown in
the following menu.
