Crypto Card Insertion/Removal
•
In general, you should insert a crypto card before initiating or answering secure calls. Place the
crypto card in the
CARD SLOT
at the front of the STE. The
CARD INSERTED
indicator is lit
when a crypto card is inserted and engaged.
•
The STE may prompt you to insert a crypto card (e.g., if you answer a call and the calling party
attempts to go secure).
•
When a crypto card is inserted during a call, the STE will automatically initiate card processing.
For the five seconds the terminal is processing the crypto card, the front panel display will flash
on and off.
CAUTION
Do not remove the crypto card while you are in an active call or if you are off hook.
If you do so, you may have to reset the STE Terminal, using
MODE
+
MUTE
, to
return it to normal operation.
•
When you have completed using the STE (your calls are completed and you will not use the
telephone again, or it is the end of the day or shift), set it to an idle condition. Remove your
