1. INSTALLING AND REMOVING BATTERIES
With the power turned OFF, push down and open the battery
case cap on the WDS-500BE rear.
Locate and correctly insert the size AA batteries in the
battery case.
When the “BAT” mark appears on the upper right of the
window, since it is time to replace the batteries, replace the
batteries.
Note) Customers are required to remove used batteries or
batteries when not using the WDS-500BE for a long period
of time. Or, batteries may leak and connection terminal may
corrode.
2. CONNECTING TRANSDUCER
a) Connect the transducer to the “TO SENSOR” connector.
b) Pin Nos. of the connector is as follows.
(Cables are separately colored based on typical KYOWA
transducer cable.)
・
WDS-500BE-0 (Applicable connector: PRC03-12A10-7M10.5)
A: + side of the bridge excitation (Red)
B: - side of the bridge output (White)
C: - side of the bridge excitation (Black)
D: + side of the bridge output (Green)
E: Shield wire
F: TEDS + side (Yellow)
G: TEDS – side (Blue)
・
WDS-500BE-1 (Applicable connector: 3RT01-PE7M)
1: + side of the bridge excitation (Red)
2: Shield wire
3: + side of the bridge output (Green)
4: TEDS – side (Blue)
5: - side of the bridge excitation (Black)
6: TEDS + side (Yellow)
7: - side of the bridge output (White)
c) The bridge excitation voltage of the WDS-500BE is
approximately 2 V. Check the recommended applied
voltage of the transducer is 2 V or more.
Note) Do not connect signals other than TEDS to the TEDS
terminal. Do not connect the transducer capable of
remote sensing.
3. CONNECTING AMPLIFIER
a) Connect a “TO AMP” connector and input of the amplifier.
b) Pin Nos. of the connector is as follows.
(Cables are separately colored based on typical KYOWA
transducer cable.)
・
WDS-500BE-0 (Applicable connector: PRC03-12A10-7M10.5)
A: + side of the bridge excitation (Red)
B: - side of the bridge output (White)
C: - side of the bridge excitation (Black)
D: + side of the bridge output (Green)
E: Shield wire
・
WDS-500BE-1 (Applicable connector: 3RT01-PE7M)
1: + side of the bridge excitation (Red)
2: Shield wire
3: + side of the bridge output (Green)
4: No connection
5: - side of the bridge excitation (Black)
6: No connection
7: - side of the bridge output (White)
Do not connect the WDS-500BE to the amplifier having
bridge excitation voltage 12 V or more.
4. SETTING OPERATION ANF FUNCTION
a) Switching strain unit (F-1)
Displays the output of the transducer in [με] or [mV/V].
The unit is also used in the automatic measuring, strain
measuring and strain output.
Note) Prior to use, set the unit either [με] or [mV/V].
For changing the setting, see [F-1] mode in “6.
FUNCTION
SELECTING MODE SETTING LIST.”
For switching method, see “6. FUNCTION SELECTING
MODE SETTING LIST.”
b) Automatic measuring mode
Automatically measures raw output, input/output resistance,
and insulation resistance of the transducer.
Press the
AUTO MEAS
key.
• ORIG:
Displays the raw output of the transducer.
• I/O R IN:
Displays the input resistance.
• I/O R OUT: Displays the output resistance.
• INSU R:
Displays the insulation resistance.
c) Strain measuring mode
Measures raw output of the transducer.
• With the power turned ON, press the
STRAIN MEAS
key.
• Press the
ZERO
key to conduct the
ZERO
.
ZERO
appears on the bottom of the window and 0
appears.
To cancel, press the
ZERO
key once again to clear the
ZERO
display.
d) Input/output resistance mode
Measures input/output resistance of the transducer.
The resistance values are displayed in Ω.
Press the
I/O R
key.
• IN:
Input resistance
• OUT: Output resistance
If the input/output resistance is 10 Ω or less, buzzer
sounds.
(When the buzzer is set to OFF, it does not sound.)
e) Insulation resistance mode
Measures insulation resistance of the transducer.
Press the
INSU R
key.
If the insulation resistance is less than 100 MΩ, buzzer
sounds.
(When the buzzer is set to OFF, it does not sound.)
“>330 MΩ” indicates the insulation resistance 330 MΩ or
more.
