Slim Design and Large Monitor

Despite its minimal height Kyocera's engineers were able to equip the new Finecam

models L3v and L4v with a large, 2.5" LCD monitor.This considerably facilitates

viewing during recording and playback. The new Finecams are slightly wider than the

previous models, and this deviation from the usual credt card format is due not only

to the large monitor but also the power supply: batteries in the consumer-friendly AA

format may be used. In other words, the supplied LithIon battery pack can be

exchanged for rechargeable AA batteries at any time. Although they look as like as

two peas, one has — as one can tell by the model name — the choice between a 3

and a 4 mega pixel CCD chip. This decision would, of course, depend on the mode of

application, such as the printing format. Apart from the optical and digital zoom

range, all other technical details are identical. The specifications would thrill any

digital photographer's heart.  To mention only a very few: optical 3x zoom, a fastest

speed of 1/2000sec, film clips up to 120sec with or without sound are possible

besides normal recording. Picture files can be resized for sending by mobile phone

and e-mail. Besides autofocus,  focus can be set manually, exposure compensation

is available as are three different autofocus metering methods.

And last but not least, both cameras have a metal body.

The Finecams L3v/L4v come supplied with a 3 volt LithIon battery, a 16 MB SD card,

the USB cable and a wrist strap. Available in spring.
