Operating Instructions
Edition: English
Important!
Read the Operating Instructions before starting to use your new KURIS-miniature trimming
machine.
Application:
Particularly light and handy machine for cutting textiles of every kind up to a layer thickness
of approx.
25 mm, depending on the type of fabric concerned. Particularly suitable for wool and soft
fabrics.
The felt oiler reduces friction between the cutter and countercutter so that laminated
materials can also be cut.
Technical data:
Motor power consumption BOM 101/101S Approx. 200 W
Motor power consumption BOM 101V Approx. 238 W
Motor speed (idling)
Approx. 10,000 rpm
Cutter speed (idling)
Approx.
750 rpm
Cutter diameter
100 mm
Cutter wear limit
Approx.
93 mm
Cutting height, max.
Approx.
25 mm
Machine weight without cable
Approx.
3000 g
Vibration
< 2.5 m/s
Running noise
74 dB(A)
measured at a distance of 1 m when
idling
Machine designed to VDE 0740, protection class I and fully insulated, as well as to EC Directive.
Interference suppressed as per VDE 0875.
Start-up:
The machine may only be connected to a power supply with the voltage specified on the
rating plate.
IMPORTANT: The machine must be switched off before inserting the plug in the socket
outlet!
Operation of the machine, safety instructions: (Fig. 1)
Set the cutter guard to the material thickness. Switch on rocker switch to start motor.
Guide machine against the material to be cut, slightly raise the material and start cutting.
When cutting, ensure that your hand always rests on the material beside the cutter and
never in front of the cutter Ensure that the power cable is well away from the cutting
contour in order to reduce the risk of cutting through the cable. For safety reasons, switch
off when the material has been cut and close the cutter guard to avoid accidental contact
with the cutter. The number of layers to be cut depends on the thickness of the material.
The motor speed must not drop too low otherwise it will overheat.
Resharpening the cutter: (Fig. 2)
Switch on motor. Lightly and briefly press sharpening lever several times to press the
grinding wheel against the rotating cutter so that it rotates and sharpens the cutter. A clean
cut and good cutting performance can only be achieved with a sharp cutter. Ensure that the
countercutter always rests against the outside edge of the cutter.
