LAYING MICRO-GRANULES AS REQUIRED
The localisation of the agent around the seed depends on several factors:
The positioning of the cellular disc
relative to the grain distribution disc.
The cellular disc is secured to the aluminium disc with 3 screws, item 1.
The position of one disc relative to the other is factory set and should not be
corrected unless it is not possible to achieve the desired result purely by setting
the position of the injector item 4.
The positioning of nylon injector
item 4
this is held in place by means of a pressure screw — item 3 — and, depending on
whether it is pointing forwards or backwards, the agent will be dispensed earlier or
later. There are 2 holes at the end which indicate the position of the injector and
enable its position to be altered; in mid position the 2 holes are horizontal.
When tightening the pressure screw, care must be taken to ensure that this
injector exerts a very light pressure against the cellular disc — item 8.
The distribution sketch below shows that in:
A. The agent is being laid correctly
B. The agent is being laid too far forward. In order to correct this, turn the injector
anticlockwise
C. The agent is being laid too far back: turn the injector clockwise
Travel speed
This speed may affect the localisation of the agent and needs to be taken into
account when setting the injector.
ADVICE ON USE
The agent may clog easily, either due to compaction or to moisture. It is therefore
advisable:
∗
That hoppers be emptied when travelling by road in order to prevent compaction
∗
At the end of the day, run the seed drill with the micro-granulator gearbox set to “0”
in order to empty the injectors completely
∗
Before sowing, ensure that all the sections of the seed drill are dispensing
∗
It is advisable that the seeder be kept in a dry building, with a little heating if
possible, if the weather is damp.
